Movie Night
Going to the movies with the whole family can be expensive.
So why not have movie night at home? Pick a night and
prepare before hand.
Tips and Tricks: Make up movie tickets for the kids (ask for
them before the movie starts), have popcorn, treats and
drinks in special containers (ex butter containers the kids
decorated). Have a deck? During the warm weather, bring
the TV outside for a evening viewing.
Restaurant for Kids
Going to a restaurant with the whole family can be
expensive. So why don't you bring the restaurant home.
Pick a night and prepare before hand.
Tips and Tricks: Make up a kids menu for your restaurant
(ex Tiny Tot Table). Have four or five easy to make items
on the menu (ex peanut butter sandwich, chicken
nuggets). Mom or dad could be chef.
Pizza Night
Instead of getting pizza to go, have fun with the kids and
make it at home.
Tips and Tricks: Depending on the ages of the children you
can either prepare the toppings before hand or get the kids
to help.
Board Game Night
Get away from tv, computer, and game systems. Pull out
an old fashion board game. Board games are great. They
teach kids about taking turns, giving each other
encouragement, following the rules and most of all it brings
about conversation with the family.
Tips and Tricks: Have healthy snacks on hand. Play games
everyone can play. Young ones could team up with mom,
dad or siblings
Camp Out – Inside
Push back the furniture and set up a tent! Bring out the
sleeping bags and have a camp out. Sing songs and tell
stories.
Tips and Tricks: Have camp out foods like hot dogs,
marshmallows and popcorn.
Inside Hide and Seek
A fun game for everyone at any age. Pick some one to be
the seeker while the others go and hide under the bed, in
the bath tub, etc.
Tips and Tricks: Set limits and rules before the game such
as off limit areas.
